  34. The files you mention contain the sources for TeX PROGRAMS.
  35. You will also need input files and .tfm font files.
  36. I think the contents of the following directories
  37. at the CTANs (eg ftp.shsu.edu) would do:

  39. 1. /tex-archive/systems/knuth/lib
  40. 2. /tex-archive/macros/latex
  41. 3. /tex-archive/fonts/cmr/tfm

  43. Later you would need

  45. 4. /tex-archive/fonts/cmr/mf

  47. Also you should really have

  49. 5. modes.mf

  51. eg from ftp.cs.umb.edu (or from the CTANs).
